Melissa is the founder of both Christian Functional Medicine Academy and the Functional Nurse Academy. She is an experienced nurse educator, creator and instructor of all CFMA and FNA curriculum. Phil is an engineer by trade and serves as the office manager and tech support.
They have been married for 10 years and have 3 beautiful children. They reside in Franklin, TN and in their spare time they enjoy raising their children and travelling.
Phil and Melissa are deeply rooted in their Christian faith and donate a percentage of all enrollments to bless others. 10% of our proceeds are donated do a variety of charitable organizations including React19, an organization that provides medical funding to those suffering long-term effects of covid19 vaccinations and Elijah Streams, an organization that supports victims of human trafficking and builds water wells in Uganda)

Krysti Jonas
With 14 years of nursing experience and board certification as a Functional Medicine Nurse Specialist, Krysti brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role as an enrollment specialist at CFMA.
Driven by a personal journey with chronic diverticulitis, leaky gut and hypothyroidism, she understands the profound impact of holistic health solutions. Krysti is passionate about empowering future students to uncover root causes of health issues and transform lives through mindful health practices. As a dedicated mother of two and a transplant to Florida, she combines her professional expertise with a deep empathy for work-life balance and personal well being.

Meghan Cosgrove
Hi, I’m Meghan — a former L&D nurse turned functional health nurse who’s passionate about helping women feel empowered in their bodies and their health. After seeing conventional birth practices early in my nursing career, I started seeking more holistic, evidence-based care. Living in Germany deepened that passion (post c-section many moms only get tea and tylenol post-op!), as I fell in love with real food, clean ingredients, and natural living.
A Hashimoto’s diagnosis pushed me further into root-cause healing, especially gut and immune health. Now I help women uncover what’s really going on beneath the surface and feel truly supported.
I live in Missouri with my husband and our (soon-to-be) four kids, where we spend our days gardening, homeschooling, chasing free-range ducks, and doing our best to keep life simple and grounded.

Bonnie Ridge
As a 4th generation medical professional with over 15 years of experience in the healthcare field, Bonnie values every chance to assist those in need and to positively impact the lives of others. She is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Board-Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, and Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner.
After completing multiple programs in holistic health and functional medicine and nutrition, she is grateful to be part of the team at Christian Functional Medicine Academy.
Her journey began years after working in hematology/oncology/stem cell transplant as a Registered Nurse and as she was also challenged to find ways to safely feed her children with life-threatening food allergies and eczema while advocating for food allergy awareness in her community. Fascinated by root-cause solutions, she came to the realization how healing was possible if everyone had compassionate guidance in self-care and was truly heard and supported.
She is passionate about empowering others through holistic and functional approaches for gut-brain connection, hormone balance, and skin health.
As a former homeschooling parent of 9 years and a dedicated mom of two in California, she enjoys spending time with family when she is not working virtually to help others achieve their optimal health and wellness goals.
